Guides are the heart and soul of The Field School of Hvar. Their core work is to help young people of diverse backgrounds find their agency. They know when to step back and let a child solve their own challenges, and when to step in. They remind children that they already have the wisdom to live kindly and explore safely. They connect deeply with children and their caregivers, thriving on the close bonds that arise from our small class sizes and vivid shared experiences.

The Sailing Guide is responsible for leading two group of 7 children (ages 7-9 and ages 10+) in the basics of water safety, navigation, boat construction, and coastal sailing or paddling, adapting to the ability and ambitions of each group.
